About Us

Makom Tov (a Good Place) is a hospitality complex for individuals, groups, workshops, and events, operating in the Moa Oasis complex in the Arava Spiritual Center.
The place is part of the Arava Spiritual Center, founded by the Method and Wisdom NPO, intending to serve as a center for spiritual study and practice, a home for peace activities,
bringing together hearts, and activities for disadvantaged populations. The complex covers an area of about 60 square km of ecological construction that blends into the desert landscape. It includes a big orchard along which a stream runs, pools and shaded relaxation areas, and an environmental lake from local groundwater. There are rooms for individuals and couples, larger rooms for families and groups, large Rajasthani tents, a workshop area, and a large hall that can accommodate up to 300 people. All rooms and halls are air-conditioned.

After years of hard work by Lama Dvora and the association members, the Arava Spiritual Center was inaugurated in November 2014, as the site of the spiritual center of the Method and Wisdom NPO, on leased land belonging to Moa Oasis.
Some of the buildings in the complex, located in the heart of a magical oasis near Tsofar in the Arava valley, were built by the association’s members using ecological construction.
Over 200 students, guests and volunteers visit the center to study, practice and acquire spiritual wisdom. Arava Spiritual Center was founded to serve as a center of spiritual study and practice and to hold activities creating a bridge or peace in our region and the entire world. The center is a source of inspiration and growth for the whole region and attracts teachers from various traditions; in this way, the center expedites the creation of sustainable peace in our area.
The studies at the center aim to develop a worldview based on wisdom and a compassionate attitude towards others, which draws from the Tibetan Buddhism tradition and ancient yoga traditions. The goal is to give the students the knowledge and tools to help
them develop spiritual abilities and qualities, eventually allowing them to bring about a profound transformation in their lives and environment.
The center's staff also consists of long-time, experienced spiritual practitioners, some of whom have taken monastic vows. This wonderful group maintains the first and only monastery of its kind in the Middle East.
